Description: A fully competent engineer in all the normal aspects of the discipline. Is required to apply independent judgment, evaluation and selection abilities and be able to implement substantial modifications to standard designs and to create new designs. Devises new approaches as required to complete assignments. Assignments are generally in nature to complete the assigned tasks. Is responsible for training assigned personnel. May be assigned the role of Project Manager for specific projects and would also meet the requirements of that job description when so assigned. Completes designs of all facets of multiple projects including coordination with other disciplines. The projects may involve complex issues both in design, materials, and schedule.

Reporting Structure: Sr. Project Manager, Project Managers, Supervising Engineer

Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, plus a minimum of eight (8) years engineering experience, or, a Master's Degree in Engineering, plus a minimum of six (6) years engineering experience. Professional Engineer Registration is required.

Responsibilities: Obtain Professional Engineer registration in the states needed for assigned projects. Mentor less-experienced Engineers and Designers. Assist the Project Manager in the technical, administrative, budgetary, and schedule implementation of assigned projects, as well as in generating and maintaining project schedules. Communicate with Customers concerning project business. Domestic travel is required to meet with Customers and to visit job sites to ensure successful project implementation. Assist the Project Manager in keeping project costs within budget. Report to management on project, budget, and schedule status. Prepare estimates for proposed projects. Routinely supervises Drafters, Designers, Technicians, and may direct other Engineers as assigned by Sr. Project Manager or Project Manager. Assist with or prepare presentations to existing or future Customers which would aid in obtaining future business. Prepare reports and other assistance as required to support management in strategic planning for the Company.

Qualifications: All qualifications of an Engineer III, with the addition of the following: Demonstrated ability to act as Engineer of Record and seal drawings when needed. Assist Project Manager with performance reviews for more junior Drafters and Designers. Professional Engineer Registration required.

The ability to work overtime, 10 to 20 hours per week when workload is necessary, is required. Some domestic travel may be required.
