Authorization Coordinator

Responsible for verifying patient eligibility and coordinating benefits, the full-time remote Authorization Coordinator will ensure insurance coverage and obtain prior authorizations as needed while documenting in the patient electronic medical record. Key responsibilities Verify patient eligibility and coordinate benefits for medical orders Obtain prior authorizations when necessary and document in the electronic medical record Respond to patient inquiries regarding authorizations within established turnaround standards Required qualifications High School Diploma or GED One year of recent relevant experience Knowledge of medical terminology and coding systems (CPT, HCPCS, ICD-9) Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Excel and Word Ability to exercise discretion and make independent judgments
