Registry & Quality Coordinator - Vascular Surgery Office

Vascular Registry CoordinatorThis position primarily coordinates the collection of structured data to be used for all aspects of the vascular registry including data compilation, data entry, data analysis, and report generation. The coordinator assists in the billing process by gathering and submitting documentation for surgical and radiology claims and analyzing registry reports to insure that all procedures are reported and billed. In addition this position will be integral in the application of quality standards throughout the practice as it seeks to improve the methods by which the organization collects structured data. This includes the creation and maintenance of templated reports for in office procedures and appointments, the monitoring and reporting of physician scorecards, and problem solving relative to the collection of missing data.Essential Functions:Collects and enters all clinical data into the vascular registry databasesCreates and runs queries for data analysis including monthly quality assurance reports and specific queries as requested by the physiciansAnalyzes the data generated and creates reportsCreates and modifies databases as needed for new projects and proceduresReviews abstracts and manuscripts for accuracy of dataWorks with the supervising physician and the billing staff to ensure the transfer of correct clinical information from the registry to billing personnel to expedite the billing processReviews billing reports, gathers and submits needed documentation for third party payorsFacilitates and sets the agenda for monthly Research Meetings as the primary practice contact for large scale data pulls and analysis related to ongoing research, presentations, and academic publicationsEnsures large data set requests have gone through an appropriate vetting process to minimize the duplication of requests and redundant reportingCollaborates with physicians on requested research projects to collect most pertinent dataProvides accurate data pulls for external agencies as required for insurance/credentialing purposesQualifications:Bachelor's degree requiredMinimum of 3 years of experience in database managementMinimum of 3 years of clinical experience, preferably working with patients with vascular diseaseExperience in health sciences preferably medical education at RN or LPN level preferredRN or LPN licensure in NYS preferredKey Skills:Able to communicate clearly and effectively on a wide range of issues with physicians, Vascular surgery staff membersAble to organize workload, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.Able to determine project parameters, establish needed databases, analyze data, and generate meaningful reports.Able to assess billing reports and determine what measures should be taken regarding documentation and billing of procedures.Able to demonstrate proficiency with multiple software packages including database management, word processing, spreadsheets, Epic, and the patient information systems at local hospitals.Thank you for your interest in Albany Med Health System!?Albany Med Health System is an equal opportunity employer.This role may require access to information considered sensitive to Albany Med Health System, its patients, affiliates, and partners, including but not limited to HIPAA Protected Health Information and other information regulated by Federal and New York State statutes.
