About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: CVICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year experience required in CVICU/CSICU. License: Valid state nursing license. Certifications: ACLS, BLS. Must-Have: EPIC charting experience required. Description: The nurse will work in a cardiac surgery intensive care unit. Experience at a Level 1 facility is required. Duties include providing care for patients undergoing cardiac surgeries such as CABGs, valve repairs/replacements, and aortic surgeries. The nurse will monitor patients using invasive hemodynamic monitoring and titrate vasoactive IV medications. Responsibilities also include post-operative recovery care and managing circulatory assist devices like LVAD, ECMO, and IABP. Candidates should have experience recovering post-op cardio-thoracic surgery patients. Experience with CRRT is required. Nurses may be required to float within scope if needed. Clinical support systems in place include IV Teams, Respiratory Services, and Pharmacy. Daily census averages around 13 patients, with assignments typically involving 1-2 patients each shift. Candidates must adhere to health and safety policies, including a natural nail policy. Two professional references are required for consideration. Modules related to the position will be assigned during the orientation process.
