RN - Medical Surgical Care unit

Job Summary We’re seeking a staff RN to join our hospital‑based team at MultiCare Tacoma General Hospital. This role supports a multidisciplinary approach to nursing care, with opportunities to contribute to clinical decision‑making, quality improvement, and professional development. Position Details FTE: 0.75 | Shift: Days | Schedule: 12‑hour shifts with rotating weekends. Responsibilities Organize patient care by prioritizing, delegating, delivering, and evaluating care on an ongoing basis. Apply nursing education and experience to deliver nursing care using the nursing process in accordance with hospital policies, procedures and protocols. Collaborate with the nursing team to facilitate overall improvement in quality of care, patient experience and cost reduction. Foster a learning environment for patients/families, nursing staff and members of the health‑care team. Advocate for ethical and holistic care promoting patient autonomy, dignity, and health across diverse ethnic and social backgrounds. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, or obtained within five years of hire; RN with 15+ years of service or internal candidates hired before January1,2021 may be considered in lieu of an education agreement. Advanced degree in Nursing (MSN, PhD, DNP, ARNP) preferred. Registered Nurse license (RN) in Washington State or multi‑state licensure endorsement (MSL). Current BLS certification required. ACLS or NALS or PALS or TNCC or NRP certification, as required by facility or department. Certification in specialty area preferred. One year of experience in an acute‑care setting preferred. Compensation & Benefits Pay range: $48.15–$90.83 USD, adjusted for experience, skill set, certifications and education. Competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits, and paid time off.
