Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) - Part-Time

ISO Workforce Alliance is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to join a supportive school district in Evanston, Illinois. Position Details
•Position: Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
•Location: Evanston, IL
•Schedule: Part-Time
•School Year: Current School Year (with potential for extension)
•Employment Type: W-2 Contract OR 1099

Responsibilities
•Provide direct and consultative vision services to students with visual impairments.
•Develop and implement individualized educational programs (IEPs) aligned with each student's unique needs.
•Conduct functional vision assessments and learning media assessments, as appropriate.
•Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, related service providers, and families to ensure student success.
•Teach compensatory skills, assistive technology, orientation to educational materials, Braille instruction (when appropriate), and other expanded core curriculum areas.
•Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and compliance with state and district requirements.
•Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.

Qualifications
•Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education or a related field.
•Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL).
•Illinois endorsement/licensure as a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI), or eligibility to obtain.
•Experience working with school-aged children with visual impairments preferred.
•Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
