Commodity Manager

ITP (International Talent Partnership)

A specialist global aviation and aerospace engine business is looking to add a Commodity Manager – CFM56 Engine Components to its growing supply chain team as it continues to scale its engine material strategy, Module Factory capability, and global aftermarket support.

The company owns and maintains commercial jet engines, with a strong focus on CFM56 and V2500 platforms, supporting airline, lessor, MRO, and aviation customers globally. This role will play an important part in improving material availability, strengthening supplier performance, reducing cost, and building a more resilient supply chain across key engine component portfolios.

This would suit someone who enjoys working closely with operations, procurement, engineering, repair management, asset management, and global suppliers to solve material challenges and drive practical commercial improvements. The role is highly visible and will have a direct impact on cost, availability, supplier strategy, and operational performance across North America and Europe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute commodity strategies for a portfolio of CFM56 engine components.
  • Support material availability, cost reduction, price-increase mitigation, and supply chain resilience.
  • Create sourcing strategies, supplier development plans, and long-term supply models.
  • Work closely with operations, procurement, engineering, repair management, and supply chain teams.
  • Use demand planning tools and supply chain data to assess demand, constraints, and material flow.
  • Lead RFQs, bid analysis, supplier negotiations, and commercial business cases.
  • Manage supplier agreements and drive improvements in cost, quality, delivery, and reliability.
  • Build strong relationships with strategic aerospace suppliers.
  • Identify supply chain risks, lead recovery plans, and support critical material challenges.
  • Support global sourcing initiatives, new program activity, and high-impact supplier projects.

Experience Required

  • Experience in aerospace supply chain, commodity management, procurement, sourcing, or supplier management.
  • Exposure to commercial engine components, engine materials, aerospace MRO, or aftermarket supply chains would be highly relevant.
  • Strong technical understanding of engine maintenance, CFM56 products, or aircraft engine components would be beneficial.
  • Experience managing RFQs, supplier agreements, pricing, negotiations, and supplier performance.
  • Strong analytical ability with the confidence to assess cost, demand, risk, availability, and supplier capability.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with operations, engineering, procurement, asset management, and program teams.
  • Degree in supply chain, commerce, business, engineering, or a related field would be beneficial, although equivalent hands-on industry experience will also be considered.

Personal Attributes

  • Commercially sharp, analytical, and supplier-focused.
  • Strong negotiator with the ability to influence across functions and geographies.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic aerospace environment.
  • Practical problem-solver who can balance short-term execution with long-term commodity strategy.
  • Organised, data-driven, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Clear communicator with strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Collaborative, proactive, and able to build credibility with internal teams and external suppliers.

Why This Role?

This is a strong opportunity to join a growing aviation platform with a clear focus on commercial engine assets, CFM56/V2500 programs, Module Factory capability, and aftermarket growth. The role offers visibility to senior supply chain leadership, direct influence over global material strategy, and the chance to make a measurable impact on cost, availability, supplier performance, and operational execution across a high-growth aerospace business.
