Core Responsibilities
Planning & Layout: Reading blueprints, architectural drawings, and building specs to estimate materials, lay out dimensions, and comply with local building codes.
Cutting & Shaping: Measuring, marking, cutting, and shaping wood, composite lumber, drywall, and structural materials using hand and power tools.
Assembly & Installation: Building structural frameworks (walls, floor joists, rafters, roofs), installing doors, windows, staircases, cabinetry, molding, and siding.
Repair & Maintenance: Inspecting damaged structures, replacing rotted wood, fixing sagging floors, and repairing fixtures in residential or commercial settings.
Quality & Safety: Ensuring structures are level, square, and structurally sound using spirit levels, laser levels, and plumb bobs while following OSHA safety standards.
