About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to serve as its senior financial leader and a close partner to the executive team. The CFO will be responsible for leading the finance function, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, audit, treasury, and financial compliance. This role is pivotal in designing and managing the financial architecture that supports the organization's philanthropic programs. The successful candidate will be tasked with building and modernizing the financial infrastructure to support the company's strategic growth, ensuring transparency, and increasing decision support. The CFO will also be expected to serve as a trusted partner to the CEO, providing financial clarity and strategic counsel on major decisions. Candidates for the CFO position at the company should have a strong background in financial leadership within a nonprofit or mission-driven environment. The role requires a strategic thinker with the ability to translate organizational strategy into financial plans and a deep understanding of philanthropic infrastructure. Technical excellence in nonprofit accounting, GAAP, and financial management systems is essential. The ideal candidate will have a CPA, MBA, or relevant advanced credential, and a minimum of 10 years' progressive financial leadership experience. Experience with philanthropic financial and operational technology platforms is a plus. The CFO must be a collaborative leader, with a commitment to the mission of mobilizing resources for a sustainable planet, and should be prepared to work effectively in a remote, U.S.-based organization.
