State Licensed Tax Lead

Leading the U.S. state and local tax strategy, the full-time remote State Licensed Tax Lead will manage compliance and audit defense while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive automation and AI improvements. Key responsibilities Oversee U.S. state and local income tax and indirect tax strategy, compliance, and audit defense across various business lines Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Finance teams to ensure accurate tax configuration and reporting for new product launches Drive automation and AI initiatives to enhance tax validation, research, and exemption processes Required qualifications 15+ years of experience in state and local tax, particularly in telecom and SaaS industries Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, ASC 450, and ASC 740 requirements related to state and local taxes Experience managing SALT audits and leading cross-functional tax technology initiatives Proficient in billing, ERP, and tax technology platforms (e.g., Oracle, Zuora, Avalara) Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA or JD preferred
