SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES Opening the pool before events Monitor areas of activity Use preventative safety measures Respond to injuries, incidents, and emergencies as directed by the university Enforce facility pool rules Monitoring weather to enforce safety of patrons Maintaining a clean and safe environment Attend monthly in‑services ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Ability to perform first aid Ability to perform water rescues Effective communication with patrons, facility managers, Campus Recreation Coordinator and Assistant Dean of Students Vigilance when monitoring patrons Knowledge of rules and regulations ADDITIONAL REQUIRED EXPECTATIONS Punctual and consistent Critical thinking skills Active communication skills Great customer service skills Quick response to emergencies Ability to work in a high‑stress environment EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED Must have a current Lifeguard Certificate CPR/AED/First Aid certified EMPLOYER’S RIGHTS This job description does not list all the duties of the job.
