Senior Accountant

A large, well-established manufacturing organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its corporate accounting team. This is a highly visible role that combines traditional accounting responsibilities with financial analysis and partnership across operations, supply chain, and finance. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the monthly close process, financial reporting, account analysis, internal controls, and continuous improvement initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for an accountant who wants to build broader experience within a complex manufacturing environment and gain exposure to multiple areas of the business. Key Responsibilities Own key components of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules Perform detailed balance sheet and P&L analysis and investigate significant variances Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Commercial Finance, and FP&A to understand business performance Analyze manufacturing and operational costs against budget, forecast, and prior periods Ensure accounting activity is accurate, properly supported, and compliant with U.S. GAAP Maintain strong documentation and audit-ready support for assigned accounting areas Assist with the development, documentation, and testing of internal controls Support internal and external audit requests Identify opportunities to improve and automate accounting and reporting processes Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis as needed Review accounting work prepared by junior team members and provide guidance Participate in special projects and cross-functional initiatives across the organization Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 3–7+ years of progressive accounting experience Experience within manufacturing, industrial, distribution, or another complex operating environment strongly preferred Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and general ledger accounting Hands-on experience with month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement analysis Experience with manufacturing accounting, inventory, standard costing, or operational finance is a plus CPA or CPA-track candidate preferred Experience working with a large ERP system such as SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or similar preferred Advanced Excel skills Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities Ability to work effectively with both accounting and operational teams #J-18808-Ljbffr Bell & Associates, Inc.
