Job Description Job Description Fiber Optic Splicer - Job Description Position Summary The Fiber Optic Splicer is responsible for the installation, splicing, testing, and maintenance of fiber optic networks in a variety of environments including aerial, underground, and FTTH systems. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high-quality standards. Key Responsibilities * Install, splice, and maintain new and existing fiber optic networks. * Prepare and splice single-mode (SM) and multi-mode (MM) fiber optic cables, including ribbon and loose tube configurations. * Perform fiber splicing using single and mass fusion splicing equipment. * Terminate fiber using connectors and pigtails. * Conduct testing using OTDR, OLTS, power meters, and VFL equipment. * Install splice closures, capsules, and associated hardware. * Perform mid-sheath cable entries and work within active fiber networks. * Troubleshoot, repair, and respond to network outages. * Maintain system integrity without causing service interruptions. * Document all work performed, including production reports, test results, and customer documentation. * Maintain and care for tools, equipment, vehicles, and trailers. * Complete certification testing and ensure network performance meets specifications. * Follow all safety regulations including OSHA, NESC, NEC, and company standards. Required Skills & Qualifications * Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in fiber optic splicing required. * Certified in fiber optic splicing preferred * Pay range $25-35 hourly
