Together, we're improving health and improving lives.Labcorp is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our team in Phoenix, AZ.Work Schedule: Night Shift, Tuesday - Saturday, 3:00 am - 11:30 am. Required overtime based on business needsJob Responsibilities:Receive and sort clinical lab specimensPrepare specimens for testing and analysisScan and/or data entry of specimen and patient informationEnsure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenanceTroubleshoot any specimen related issuesReplenish test bench supplies as neededMaintain a clean and safe work environmentComplete record logs and other administrative duties as requestedFollow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standardsMinimum Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED equivalentPreferred Qualification:One or more years of experience in an assembly or manufacturing production environmentOne or more years of experience in a medical/clinical laboratory experienceOne year or more of previous experience plating specimen samples using the WASP or similar automated microbiology plating systems.Additional Job Standards:Comfortability with handling biological specimensAble to accurately identify specimensBasic computer knowledge and data entry skillsHigh level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitaskAble to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet established turn-around timesStrong communication skills; both written and verbalAble to sit and/or stand for extended periods of timeAble pass a standardized color blindness testAt Labcorp we have a passion in helping people live happy and healthy lives.
