Job Description & Requirements Specialty: OR - Operating Room Discipline: RN Start Date: 06/22/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, rotating Employment Type: Travel General Information Beds: Department runs 10 ORs M-F 0700-1500 20 Pre-Op bays 14 PACU bays Required Experience: 2 years of OR Level 1 or 2 trauma experience Will you accept a first-time traveler? No manager approval to offer Travelers must live >100 miles away from facility Permanent staff must wait 1 full year to return as a traveler Patient Types: Surgical (Urology/Neuro/Ortho/Robotic/General/Podiatry/ENT/Gynecology/Trauma) Patient Ratios: OR 1:1; Pre-Op 1:2; PACU Phase I 1:1 or 1:2 (based on acuity); PACU Phase II 1:2-3 Required Certifications: RN: BLS, ACLS Required Education: Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing Skills required: RN: Ortho-Trauma (ORIF, Ex fix, Amputations), Neuro (Craniotomy, Spinal), General, Robotics (Da Vinci XI, SP, DV5) Surgical experience in a tertiary care center Support on the Unit: Surgery RN/First Assist/Surg Tech; Nurse Clinician; CRN; Service Line Lead x2; HUC Scheduler; Preference Card Analyst; OR Tech s x 1/case; Anesthesia; Pre-Op/PACU RN; Aide (6) Nurse Clinician; CRN x 3 Charting System/Equipment: EPIC. Please let CRT know if traveler does not have EPIC experience so they can ask approval. Floating: If yes, where? As needed to (Endo); (PreOp/PACU/Floor) if floated out of peri-op services, will be as helping hands. Orientation: (facility and unit) 1 week Scheduling: Weekend rotation if position is posted as weekend only and on call, every 3rd weekend. Call: Ideally, one overnight per week 7p-7a and every 3rd weekend Fri 15:00 - Mon 07:00. Sleep room will be in Pre-Op/PACU area as it will be closed. Couches in break room. 15 min response time. Holiday Expectations: 2/4 major holidays. Approval of time off? Reach out to Manager for approval. May volunteer low census without pay.
