SMTA Process Engineer

Primary Responsibilities Candidates will develop, document, and execute manufacturing processes and procedures for electronic products. Candidate will support production of printed circuit board assemblies through various processes such as SMT, Through Hole Selective Solder, Press fit, Conformal Coating, and other PCBA manufacturing processes. Applicant will work with a multi‑disciplinary team to develop a wide variety of hardware, using the latest automated technology in assembly and test equipment. Candidate will support tasks such as creating machine programs and overseeing the execution of manufacturing activities. Candidate will work closely with the operations team to complete all details of the assembly and ultimately prepare the assembly for delivery to the customer. Candidate will also work closely with our manufacturing team—including engineering, operations, and quality—to develop processes that validate customer quality requirements. Candidate will work closely with production control to meet desired delivery schedules. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree with 4–8 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s Degree with 2–6 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a HS Diploma with 10 years of experience will be considered. Experience with SMT, PTH, selective soldering, or conformal coating processes. Experience with Costpoint Material Planning software and/or Agile/Windchill product lifecycle management software, and experience in various quality roles, or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). Strong leadership skills, attention to detail, ability to work independently, and ability to multi‑task. Experience working with design engineers, manufacturing engineers, and technicians to develop a build strategy and identify potential assembly problems. Basic computer skills associated with assembly tasks (e.g., retrieving documentation, updating router steps). Resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville‑North Alabama, AL area. US Citizen and possess (or be eligible to obtain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain a Secret Clearance. Preferred Qualifications At least 5 years of manufacturing experience on programs building electronic hardware to government specifications. Experience with ASM pick‑and‑place, DEK screen printers, BTU ovens, PVA coating machines, Pillarhouse or JUKI selective solder equipment. Experience with software that maintains bills of materials and other engineering design data. Experience with electronics used on launch vehicles, targets, or missile components, and production of cable harnesses, electronics, and electromechanical assemblies. Experience in various quality roles. Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
