Senior Network Engineer

Role Overview: The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for managing and maintaining network infrastructure, ensuring seamless system integration, and providing advanced troubleshooting for AV data and corporate networks. This role involves hardware administration, system monitoring, security implementation, and supporting collaboration technologies, acting as a key escalation point for complex network issues. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage VLANs, routing, QoS, and switches for AV data.
- Connect AV control systems to corporate LAN/WAN.
- Isolate and resolve routing, switching, and firewall issues.
- Install and maintain servers, switches, routers, and wireless access points.
- Track network performance to prevent outages and identify bottlenecks.
- Enforce access permissions, implement firewalls, and perform data disaster recovery.
- Act as an advanced escalation point for Level 1/Level 2 help-desk tickets.
- Maintain accurate network diagrams, system registries, and configuration logs.
- Support platforms like Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Cisco Webex.
- Work with external ISPs and hardware vendors to troubleshoot escalated faults.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and VLANs.
- AV over IP (AVoIP) knowledge, including protocols like Dante, NDI, and AES67.
- Proficiency with enterprise network vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, or Palo Alto.
- Experience managing LAN/WAN topologies.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark).
- Strong problem-solving skills for logically isolating complex, multi-layered IT issues.
- Excellent communication skills for translating complex technical jargon for non-IT stakeholders.
- Demonstrated customer service ability for interacting directly with clients or staff to resolve downtime.
