Title:General CounselJob Description:NOW HIRING: General CounselCompensation: $300,000-$350,000 per yearJob OverviewResponsible for optimizing organizational efficiency regarding company legal matters. Primary responsibilities include providing expert and strategic legal advice to management, setting internal governance policies and procedures, and evaluating and weighing multiple inputs and impacts of any decision or course of action from a legal perspective.Roles & ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.Manage assigned organizational legal mattersMaintain knowledge of organization’s operations and legal documentsPromulgate and create directives of corporate acts and decisionsManage Contracts Department with focus on Customer Agreements and working with company stakeholders to ensure contracts meet SBM guidelines and are properly administered from inception through signed agreement, renewals and end of life as needed; ensure controls are in place to measure contract compliance as neededDevelop structure to ensure subcontractor agreements employ proper risk transfer provisions and are compliant with customer requirementsProvide legal support and oversight for corporate departments (e.g., HR, Procurement, Finance, Marketing, etc.)Point of contact for all assigned litigation mattersCoordinates activities with outside counselResponsible for entity formations and custodian of corporate documentsQualificationTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.Education and/ or Experience - Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree with 3-5 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experienceCertificates, Licenses, Registrations - May be required to have a valid driver’s licenseKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Experience in real estate transaction and service agreements with Fortune 500 companies preferredSupervisory ResponsibilitiesCarries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, and directing work; performance evaluations; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
