In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary health care teams to maintain the standards of professional nursing practices in the clinical setting. You will integrate patient care standards in all clinical activities; participate in performance improvement activities to improve patient safety, quality of care and patient outcomes. The RN will maintain sensitivity and awareness of cultural and religious diversity when addressing patients, visitors, co-workers and other customers.ResponsibilitiesCritical care, clinical competenceProvide comprehensive pre- and post-operative nursing care to adult patients varying in acuityRecognizes and responds appropriately to patient change in condition such as Cardiac rhythm or respiratory distressThe ability to work with complex patient care equipment including heart monitors, ventilators, blood pressure monitoring and other life-sustaining equipmentCommunicates appropriate information and patient advocacy regarding pre-operative / post operative conditions to those who require the information including surgeons and anesthesiologistExperience Required1+ years' of acute care experienceExperience PreferredCritical care experience preferredHCAHPS/EPIC knowledge preferredEducation RequiredBSN from an accredited school of nursingCertifications RequiredNYS RN license and registration requiredAHA BLS, ACLS, PALS certification requiredNon-Discrimination Policy Hospital for Special Surgery is committed to providing high quality care and skilled, compassionate, reliable service to our community in a safe and healing environment.
