Details Work in a 10-bed Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU within a Children's Hospital setting Care for congenital cardiac and cardiac surgical pediatric patients, including post-op inotropic/vasopressor infusions, chest tube management, and post-sternotomy open chest care Perform moderate sedation procedures 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio for critical care (staffing ratios estimated, not guaranteed) Utilizes Phillips monitors, Med fusion pumps, Baxter pumps, and specialized equipment such as Centrimag, Prismax, and Arctic Sun Charting performed in Meditech EMR Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM 4 shifts per 4-week schedule required for weekends 13-week assignment Requirements Active CO or Compact RN license required Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required (AHA or ARC accepted) Minimum 2 years of cardiac critical care experience required Peritoneal dialysis, CRRT, and ECMO bedside experience preferred No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration Additional Information Work alongside a PICU team of 6 RNs plus additional support staff who partner to help cover the unit Join an experienced nursing team averaging 10 years of nursing experience with high engagement and strong culture of safety Collaborate with board-certified pediatric/congenital heart intensivists and a multidisciplinary team supporting patients and families through their congenital heart journey Unit serves as the ECMO center of the hospital, caring for complex neonatal and cardiac patients Ideal candidates are flexible, organized, strong communicators, and enjoy teaching and resourcing others Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered; no local candidates accepted First-time travelers may be considered American Traveler Job ID P-749977.
