Quality Services Moving is looking for a professional Heavy Duty Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of tractors and box trucks. Our trucks are the backbone of every move we make, and you’ll be the person who keeps them safe, compliant, and on the road. We want a skilled diesel technician who takes pride in quality work, holds high standards, and leads by example.

About the role:
You’ll be responsible for the full maintenance cycle of our fleet, from routine preventive service to major repairs. You’ll work closely with dispatch and operations to schedule service around our moving schedule so trucks are ready when crews need them. You’ll also have real ownership of the maintenance program, including parts, vendors, and budget, so we’re looking for someone who thinks like a professional and not just a wrench-turner.

Mechanical and repair duties:

• Diagnose and repair heavy-duty diesel tractors and box trucks, including engine, transmission, drivetrain, brake, air system, suspension, steering, electrical, and cooling system issues
• Perform preventive maintenance services such as oil and filter changes, lubrication, and fluid checks on a set schedule to minimize downtime
• Troubleshoot equipment problems and determine whether a repair can be done in house or should be sent out
• Inspect and service tires, wheels, lighting, and safety equipment
• Complete road-readiness and safety inspections to keep our trucks within DOT and FMCSA standards

Daily fleet operations:

• Inspect tractors and box trucks when they return from jobs for mechanical condition, cleanliness, and security
• Communicate truck availability and service status to dispatch and operations
• Prioritize repairs based on upcoming moves and job schedules
• Keep accurate maintenance, inspection, and repair records for every vehicle

Parts, vendors, and budget:

• Track and control parts inventory so common parts are in stock
• Manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and outside repair shops
• Review repair orders, order parts and fuel, and subcontract repair work when needed
• Manage the maintenance budget and look for ways to cut costs without cutting corners on safety

Safety and compliance:

• Follow safe work practices when servicing and repairing vehicles and equipment
• Make sure all maintenance work follows company policies and state and federal regulatory requirements
• Report safety concerns and help maintain a culture of safety

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of heavy-duty diesel engine repair experience, including tractors and box trucks
• Valid driver’s license (CDL A preferred) with no major violations or at-fault accidents in the last 3 years
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills on diesel engines
• Own tools and the ability to use diagnostic equipment
• Working knowledge of DOT inspection requirements
• Professional demeanor and strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. without assistance
• Positive, lead-by-example mindset with a strong work ethic
