The Labs and Clearance Coordinator/ Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for clearing patients based on a standard and defined process to ensure the patient can safely undergo surgery.
- Assists patients in evaluating them for their appropriate surgical procedure(s)
- Reviews patient’s medical and health history to determine pre-admission testing
- Schedules appropriate medical and cardiac clearances
- Schedules patients for follow-up appointments and tests
- Coordinates with clinical staff to gather information for all patients
- Codes information from physicians about procedures performed
- Assesses no further testing or additional clearances are needed
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Internal and external customer service orientation
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- High School Degree minimum
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
