Telemetry Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare.

Required Skills/Experience: - EKG interpretation - Medication titration

Unit Details: - Ratios: Days 1:4-5, nights 1:5-6. - Common diagnoses/patients include MI, CHF, A-fib, COPD, pacemaker/AICD placement, lung surgery, chest tubes, esophagectomy (not fresh from PACU), and general medicine overflow. - Titrates Cardizem and heparin drips. - Uses Phillips telemetry monitors; monitor techs are present, and nurses read and interpret their own strips. - Patients may use CPAP/BiPAP when on a home regimen; heated high flow is used only in special circumstances with COVID patients.

Shift & Scheduling: - Every other weekend; nights work Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday. - Holiday rotation includes Memorial Day Eve, July 3rd, Labor Day Eve, Thanksgiving Eve, Christmas Eve, and New Year’s Eve. - No call.

Floating Requirements: - Float to other general medical units.

14 days maximum time off

2 Charge/Lead references required from within the last 12 months

Driver’s license required for submission
