Responsibilities Deliver friendly, courteous, and helpful customer service while serving as the primary customer contact Supervise, train, and schedule Starbucks staff to ensure optimal staffing and adherence to company standards Drive department performance by increasing sales, improving profitability, and controlling costs Manage inventory, order supplies, and maintain accurate stock levels Prepare and serve beverages using coffee and espresso equipment while ensuring quality standards Ensure compliance with Safeway and Starbucks policies, procedures, and audit requirements Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards in the café and work areas Handle customer concerns and resolve service or product issues professionally Operate cash register functions and perform basic cash-office responsibilities Complete reporting, logs (e.g., temperature logs), merchandising displays, and other operational duties Soft Skills Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills Effective communication and conflict resolution Leadership and team motivation capabilities High level of professionalism and integrity Strong organizational and multitasking skills Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment Competencies Staff supervision, coaching, and training Inventory management and ordering processes Compliance with food safety, company policies, and audit standards Operational execution and merchandising Cash handling and basic financial accountability Decision‑making and independent judgment Knowledge Knowledge of coffee and tea preparation and beverage recipes Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices Familiarity with inventory control and shrink programs Working knowledge of retail operations and customer service standards Basic understanding of cash register systems and transactions Abilities Ability to lead, schedule, and manage a team effectively Ability to multitask and work under time constraints Ability to plan, organize, and analyze operational needs Ability to interact professionally with customers and employees Ability to work independently and make decisions Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English Other Requirements Ability to work varied shifts in a 24‑hour retail environment Prior retail or customer service experience required; management experience preferred Ability to meet physical requirements (standing/walking continuously, lifting up to 50 lbs., etc.) Must adhere to company uniform and appearance standards Benefits Competitive wages paid weekly Access to up to 50% of your earned wages before payday, via our partnership with Stream Associate discounts Health and financial well‑being benefits for eligible associates (Medical, Dental, 401k and more!)
