Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and OH or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
• 13-week assignment length
• May be required to float
• Epic charting system experience required

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced (NCC C-EFM acceptable in lieu of AWHONN Advanced)
• Preferred skill: starting and maintaining IVs
• Epic EMR experience required
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership role; charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care including antepartum, postpartum, and newborn care
• Skills may include fetal monitoring (external and internal), IUPC placement, spiral electrode placement, and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Experience with high-risk antepartum care and facility birth volumes exceeding 300/month preferred
• Familiarity with surgical procedures such as cervical cerclage and tubal ligation preferred
• Previous travel experience is preferred but not required
• Local candidates are accepted at the same pay rate
• Former employees eligible for assignment only after 6+ months away from the facility
• Current employees are ineligible to work as travelers at any Ohio State University hospital location
• RTO must be submitted with application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict compliance timelines
