Principal System Administrator

Location: Tewksbury, Massachusetts, USA (Onsite Position) Security Clearance: Requires an active and transferable Top Secret U.S. government clearance and U.S. citizenship. DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification (or higher) must be active on start date. Role Overview Principal System Administrator supporting a Raytheon Special Access Program in Tewksbury. Responsible for building, maintaining, and securing information technology systems that directly support customer mission‑critical capabilities. Responsibilities Build, maintain, and secure Information Technology systems and directly support customer mission‑critical capabilities. Partner with program developers and system engineers to research issues, determine root causes, and implement solutions to system problems. Collaborate with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements; systems operate 24x7 and may require work beyond standard hours. Provide occasional after‑hour maintenance and on‑call support; lift hardware installations up to 35 pounds. Qualifications – Must Have Education and experience: Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Active DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification (or higher) on start date. Experience with VMware vCenter, vSphere, ESX, or other virtual computing methods. Experience with Windows and/or Red Hat Linux. Active, transferable Top Secret clearance required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship required. Qualifications – Preferred Experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMF. Experience with data storage, NAS, and SAN technologies. Experience with Active Directory, VMware administration, backup, and recovery. Demonstrated ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems efficiently. Benefits and Compensation Salary range: $86,800 – $165,200 USD.
