IT Support Specialist (On-Site) | Elmwood, NJ

Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced IT Support Specialist to provide hands-on, on-site technical support in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for a self-motivated IT professional who can independently troubleshoot issues, support end users, and contribute to day-to-day IT operations with minimal supervision.

The successful candidate will support approximately 75-150 employees across both office and production environments, ensuring reliable technology services and a positive end-user experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 1 help desk and desktop support for end users, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and peripheral issues.
• Support and maintain Windows desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and other end-user devices.
• Troubleshoot and support manufacturing technologies, including Zebra label printers and handheld scanners.
• Deploy, image, configure, and maintain desktop and laptop systems.
• Coordinate employee onboarding and offboarding, including account creation, equipment provisioning, and access management.
• Administer and support Active Directory user accounts and permissions in a hybrid environment.
• Manage Microsoft 365 licensing and provide support for Office applications and related services.
• Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues, including wired, wireless, and VPN-related problems.
• Maintain accurate IT inventory records for computer equipment, peripherals, and consumable supplies.
• Track, update, and resolve support requests through the Halo ticketing system while providing exceptional customer service.
• Escalate complex technical issues to IT staff or third-party support providers as needed.

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of IT support, desktop support, or help desk experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in Windows environments.
• Experience deploying, imaging, and configuring desktop and laptop hardware.
• Working knowledge of Active Directory administration and user management.
• Understanding of basic networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network connectivity troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting Microsoft 365 / Office 365 environments.
• Familiarity with printer, scanner, and peripheral device support.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting manufacturing, warehouse, or production environments.
• Hands-on experience with Zebra printers and handheld scanning devices.
• Experience working in an MSP-supported environment.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred to effectively support a diverse employee population.

This is a Contract position based out of Elmwood Park, NJ.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
