Crisis Clinician, Mobile Crisis Outreach Team

Program Overview MCOT provides community‑based behavioral health crisis services available 24 hours a day, every day of the year. The Crisis Clinician delivers evidence‑based interventions and utilizes de‑escalation and safety planning until the crisis is resolved or the individual is transitioned into a more clinically appropriate environment. MCOT’s vision is Healthy and Fulfilled Lives, and the organization serves children, adolescents and adults experiencing a behavioral health crisis in settings such as schools, emergency rooms, homes and BTCS clinics. MCOT is committed to continuous improvement of the health and independence of the people we serve. In addition to urgent crisis response, we provide follow‑up services including case management, individual and group skills training, person‑centered recovery planning, supported housing/employment, discharge planning and linkage to ongoing services. Critical Impact The MCOT Crisis Clinician responds to emergent and urgent crisis needs, collaborating with law enforcement, the medical community, schools, families and social service agencies. The clinician demonstrates strong knowledge of principles, methods, techniques and practices for working with individuals experiencing mental health, substance use and developmental crises. Key Responsibilities Provides empathetic active listening and de‑escalation. Engages in person‑centered safety planning using critical thinking and solution‑focused problem solving. Ensures crisis follow‑up and relapse prevention, offering support after resolution. Communicates effectively with people and families from diverse cultures and socio‑economic backgrounds. Facilitates and coordinates placement. Partners with families, first responders, schools, hospitals and community agencies. Uses integrated computer database programs to access files, document services and organize and prioritize work assignments. Works independently and collaboratively within a team, maintaining a flexible work schedule. Assumes rotating on‑call responsibilities, including after‑hours, weekends and holidays (daily stipend offered). Cross‑trains to support other crisis programs such as the Diversion Center, Adult Crisis Respite, Youth Therapeutic Respite and 911 Dispatch. Differential Detail $1.00 / hour for 2 years previous experience in a similar role. Up to $4.00 / hour for tenure with BTCS.

• 0.75 / hour for bilingual.
• 1.00 / hour for LPC‑A, LCSW‑A and other advanced licensure.
• 0.50 / hour for LCDC licensure.
• 1.00 / hour for Williamson County Crisis Team (included in base rate).

Shift Differential Detail

• 2.00 / hour for evening shifts.
• 4.00 / hour for night shifts.
• 4.00 / hour for weekend shifts.
• 6.00 / hour for weekend night shifts.
• 30.00 daily stipend for rotating weekly on‑call.

Location Williamson and Burnet Counties. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Human Services*. Comprehensive knowledge of mental health diagnoses. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast‑paced, recovery‑focused environment. Minimum of two years of case management experience. Valid Texas Driver’s License and maintained approved driver status throughout employment. If degree is not in Human Services, a minimum of 24 credits in a human services field. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Human Services. Pursuit of clinical licensure in counseling, behavior analysis, family therapy, social work or related field. Advanced licensure.
