Now Hiring Ct & Multi-Modality Ct TechsBrevard County Hospital DivisionMay be eligible for up to a $15,000 hire-on bonus*May be eligible for relocation assistance*Were hiring across three hospital locations:Holmes Regional Medical Center MelbourneCt & multi-modality ct openings including weekend, evening, night opportunities.Cape Canaveral Hospital Cocoa BeachCt openings with evening, night, rotating weekend, and flexible scheduling options.Viera Hospital VieraMulti-modality ct opportunity in a collaborative hospital-based imaging environment.Why Connect?May be eligible for up to $15K hire-on bonusMay be eligible for relocation assistanceFull-time, part-time & per diem optionsShift differentials availableCompetitive compensation & benefitsPosition summary:To be fully engaged in providing quality/no harm, customer experience, and stewardship by: Being committed to the health first i care values: integrity, compassion, accountability, respect and excellence; Being engaged and contributing to a positive and productive work environment; Producing quality images; Following all hf, hospital and departmental protocols in a professional, memorable and timely manner; Mentoring the technical development of co-workers and students within a team conceptPrimary accountabilities:Quality/no harm:Maintain a safe environment for patients/customers, team members and yourself.Ensure the correct procedure is performed on the correct patient by verifying two forms of patient identification on every patient / every time.Perform time out process prior to starting any invasive procedure.Adhere to the alara principles of radiation safety.Knowledge regarding location of emergency equipment/supplies and how to use such equipment/supplies.Familiar with the health first emergency kardex and responsibilities in relation to specified emergent codes.Responsible for hurricane preparedness and your duties as a health first associate.Follow infection control policies and procedures; practice aseptic and sterile techniques.Effectively document and communicate pertinent and required information.Report malfunctioning equipment to the appropriate department, fellow associate and management in a timely manner.Accurately complete all required documentation/forms written/electronic (ex: patient history, pregnancy, iv contrast, procedural consent, mar, safety portal, medication reconciliation, pacs.Review exam orders from medical charts and/or prescriptions prior to performing an exam.Obtain pertinent patient history from the requisition, the patient, the medical chart or other sources.Perform procedure protocols, produce images consistent with image quality standards and follow all federal, state and regional healthcare regulations and adhere to joint commission/acr standards.Properly position patients and uses appropriate technique.Assure that exam rooms are clean, neat, stocked and disinfected; and that equipment is clean, disinfected and ready for the next patient encounter.Follow proper image retrieval and file processes.Participate in quality initiatives and offer suggestions for departmental improvements including departmental protocols, policies, and procedures.Accept additional responsibilities to assist with reaching departmental goals/initiatives.Attend staff meetings/in-services as required. Reads and signs off on all staff meeting minutes as required.Properly identifies, prepares and/or administers medications that are within the technologists scope of practice as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner.Stewardship:Utilize supplies/equipment with care in a safe, proficient and cost effective manner.Ensure computer data is appropriately entered for each procedure, charged completely and appropriately for all procedure(s) performed and supplies used.Demonstrate effective time management skillsComplete jobs/tasks in a timely and concise manner.Willingly assist in other areas of the department and hospital or act as a health first representative when needed to do so.Utilize kronos time clock system properly; report to work area on time and follow break and lunch policies.Maintain flexibility, adapt to changes in workflow processes and the needs of the health first organization based upon fluctuations in patient volume.Customer experience:Communicate effectively with customers (patients, lip, other health first associates, the public, etc.) using excellent customer relation skills at all times.Provide appropriate pre and post procedure education to each patient.Respond appropriately to patient/family concerns or complaints.Demonstrate sensitivity to patient privacy and dignity.Practices the i-care promiseI -i willintroducemyself and my roleC -i willclarifywhat i will be doingA- i willaskif there are any questionsR- i willrespondwith information and concernE- i will go theextramileWork experienceQualifications required:Certified and registered in radiography or radiation therapy by the arrt must maintain certification and registration at all times orCertified and registered in nuclear medicine technology by arrt or the nuclear medicine technology certification board (nmtcb) must maintain certification and registration at all timePossess a current florida state license as a general radiographerMust either be crossed-trained in ct or successfully complete a formal education program ct that meets the arrts structured education requirement and clinical experience requirement.Advanced arrt (ct) examination obtained within two (2) years of hire/transferPrior ct experience preferred.Must hold current aha bls healthcare provider completion card prior to start date and maintain.Computer-related skills deemed pertinent for optimal technical performance.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Ability to report to department within 30 minutes when on call.Physical demands:Able to walk, bend, stoop, reach, and lift throughout their shift.Able to move, lift, or position patients as required.Able to push wheelchairs, stretchers, and beds.Dependable and flexible in relation to covering required shifts.Able to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted, several times per day.Able to wear lead aprons for extended periods of timeMental demands:Able to work effectively and efficiently in a stressful work environment.Able to respond to life threatening situations.Ability to multi-task.Demonstrate critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills.Exhibit professional code of conduct and ethical principles.Demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to relate well to all customers.Competency assessment/skills checklist:The competency assessment/skills checklist should be kept in the individual department and a copy submitted with the annual performance review to associate relations.BenefitsAt health first, diversity and inclusion are essential for our continued growth and evolution.
