School Counselor, Givens Elementary
Webster Groves School District
Primary Objective:
- To help support the unique and dynamic developmental needs of adolescent learners
- To support the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral well being of all students
- Provide staff, students, and parents with guidance on course placement
- Collaborate with school social worker, teachers, students and parents to determine possible need for 504 accommodations; distribute 504 plan to appropriate teachers; oversee implementation
- Actively participate in IEP meetings and provide feedback in support of student needs
- Provide a welcoming and thorough process for students during the enrollment process
- Meet with parents as needed to discuss academic progress, social/emotional concerns and safe and healthy lifestyles
- Facilitate or participate in conferences with teachers regarding student progress
- Support students in crisis
- Share with staff individual assessment data along with strategies for improvement
- Provide individual and group counseling services when appropriate
- Collaborate with outside providers and community partners to secure resources to support student needs
- Provide responsive services to students in need
- Other duties as assigned
- Missouri Counselor Certification
- Master's Degree required
- Experience preferred
