Neonatologist - Assoc. Director

A large hospital in Northern New Jersey is seeking an experienced Neonatology provider to step into an Assistant Director role. This position offers a balanced mix of responsibilities, with approximately 80% clinical duties and 20% administrative leadership. The ideal candidate will bring at least four years of neonatology experience along with strong leadership skills, and will play a key role in supporting clinical excellence, mentoring team members, and assisting with program operations within a high-acuity, collaborative environment.

Job Function:

• Provide comprehensive care in a large Level III NICU.
• Collaborate closely with a team of neonatologists, neonatal hospitalists, and advanced practice providers.
• Utilize advanced clinical resources, including HFOV, VDR, NAVA ventilation, inhaled nitric oxide, total body hypothermia, pediatric subspecialties, surgical support, and regional transport services.
• Participate in mentorship and teaching opportunities within a collaborative academic environment.
• Support quality initiatives and best-practice standards with a robust multidisciplinary team.
• Work a Monday-Friday schedule with shared call coverage among all neonatologists and the medical director.
• Maintain a role structure consisting of approximately 80% clinical responsibilities and 20% administrative leadership.

• Board-certified or board-eligible in Neonatology.
• Active New Jersey medical license or eligibility to obtain one.
• Minimum of 4 years of neonatology experience; prior leadership experience preferred.
