Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant plays a key role in the Finance department by managing general ledger functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, overseeing compliance with tax regulations, and supporting budgeting and forecasting. This position requires strong knowledge of accounting, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners. Duties and Responsibilities Prepare, review, and reconcile general ledger accounts monthly. Manage Federal and State tax filings and payments in compliance with applicable regulations. Perform monthly bank reconciliations and daily cash postings. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Assist with subsidiary reporting (Mexico & Canada) and consolidation activities. Support annual and monthly budget preparation, variance analysis, and reviews. Oversee and assist with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Purchase Order processes as needed. Issue and track credit memos; manage container traffic reporting and costing. Ensure integrity and accuracy of SAP Business One database (e.g., maintaining item codes, item groups, etc.). Partner with the Controller and Head of Finance on special projects and process improvements. Collaborate effectively with internal management, staff, clients, vendors, and auditors. Provide support for audits and regulatory reporting. Willingness to work overtime during peak reporting periods (month-end, year-end). Perform other accounting duties as assigned. Qualification sBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required .CPA or progress toward CPA preferred .7+ years of progressive accounting experience .Strong knowledge of GAAP and general ledger functions .Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); advanced Excel skills preferred .Experience with SAP Business One or similar ERP systems a plus .Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills .Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across all levels of the organization .High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment #J-18808-Ljbffr
