Clinical Pharmacist

Schedule 4 ten‑hour shifts per week with weekend and holiday rotations. Shifts are variable throughout the day and decentralized across inpatient units—including pediatrics, NICU, ICU, OR, and ED. Location Inpatient Pharmacy, St. Vincent Regional Hospital, Billings, Montana. Compensation & Benefits Hours: 40 per week. Hourly rate $61.36–$90.18, depending on experience. Eligible for a comprehensive benefits package. Responsibilities Review patient medication orders for allergy interactions, duplicate therapy, appropriateness of drug therapy, and drug interactions. Make evidence‑based interventions to optimize medication use; ensure safe, cost‑effective therapies and accurate dispensing. Assure that medications are prepared, delivered, stored securely, and with appropriate stability and workflow considerations. Provide patient counseling and promote medication adherence, treating patients with respect and professionalism. Complete all regulatory and compliance training and maintain clear documentation of regulatory requirements. Apply knowledge of state and federal pharmacy laws, policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures. Supervise and direct interns, technicians, and support personnel as needed. Provide medication‑related clinical consultation and clarification to other health professionals. Identify and resolve issues related to equipment, maintenance, drug availability, staffing, and extraordinary patient care concerns. Identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance patient satisfaction and patient safety. Participate in departmental meetings, contributing ideas or feedback. Support hospital and system initiatives in compliance, business operations, standardization, and customer service. Support local and enterprise pharmacy leadership initiatives. Skills Pharmacy Services Medication Management Pharmaceutical Care Project Management Quality Improvement Problem Solving Federal Pharmacy Laws State Pharmacy Laws Qualifications Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution. License to practice pharmacy in the state of practice and dispense controlled substances. Current knowledge of state and federal regulations and statutes regarding pharmacy practice. Effective communication, people management, and project management skills. Immunization certification if applicable to the practice site. Preferred: previous experience working in an integrated healthcare delivery system. Board certification, health system residency preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to see, read labels, documents, monitors, and equipment; assess customer needs. Frequent verbal communication with providers, colleagues, patients, and visitors. Manual dexterity to manipulate complex and delicate supplies and equipment; frequent computer use for typing and accessing information.
