Registered Nurse - Flex Unit

Role: Registered Nurse

Responsibilities

• Assess patient conditions, develop and document care plans, and evaluate outcomes.
• Welcome patients, promote a safe environment, and supervise care staff.
• Coordinate with departments for admissions, transfers, and discharges, ensuring thorough communication.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and patients' families to analyze physical, psychosocial, and educational needs, contributing to interdisciplinary planning.
• Assist in achieving nursing department goals, participate in quality improvement, and evaluate staff and programs.
• Supervise direct patient care, manage resources within budget, and serve as a role model for staff and students.
• Attend training, explain policies, and engage with community groups on mental health topics.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree and current Illinois RN license.
• CPR certification; CPI certification within 90 days of hire.
• Preferred: psychiatric experience, knowledge of abnormal psychology, and therapeutic systems management.
