Job Title: Electrician Job Description

This role focuses on troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment within commercial facilities. You will support building operations by ensuring electrical infrastructure, lighting, HVAC-related electrical components, and safety systems function reliably and comply with all applicable codes and standards.

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical systems and equipment within commercial facilities.
• Maintain and repair lighting systems, including emergency lighting, occupancy sensors, and related components.
• Install, repair, and replace electrical wiring, outlets, switches, panels, breakers, and associated hardware.
• Perform preventive maintenance on building electrical infrastructure and equipment to minimize downtime and extend service life.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues affecting HVAC systems, building automation systems, generators, and other building services.
• Inspect electrical systems to identify hazards, code violations, or maintenance needs, and recommend corrective actions.
• Respond promptly and professionally to service calls and tenant requests.
• Assist with office renovations, tenant improvements, and electrical upgrades within the facility.
• Read and interpret electrical blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Support facility operations during planned electrical outages and emergency response situations.
• Ensure all work complies with local building codes, electrical codes, and internal safety standards.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and service calls.

• 2–5 years of trade experience or equivalent electrical training.
• Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial electrical systems and equipment.
• Proficiency in maintaining and repairing lighting systems, emergency lighting, occupancy sensors, and related devices.
• Experience installing, repairing, and replacing electrical wiring, outlets, switches, panels, and breakers.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including work with three-phase power.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Mechanical aptitude and general building maintenance skills.
• Experience with HVAC equipment, HVAC controls, and HVAC systems from an electrical standpoint.
• Knowledge of building automation systems, generators, and related electrical services.
• EPA Universal certification.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to read and write English clearly and accurately.
• Ability to work alone or with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity and safety.
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact with tenants, colleagues, and vendors in a diplomatic and positive manner.

• Experience in general labor, construction, and field service work.
• Background in preventive maintenance, general repair, and general facility maintenance.
• Familiarity with industrial electrical environments and conduit installation.
• Experience with PLC troubleshooting and basic understanding of control systems.
• Knowledge of pneumatics and mechanical systems related to building operations.
• Ability to interpret and work from building and electrical blueprints.
• Capability to support service work on air conditioning and other HVAC-related systems.
• Proof of current car insurance.

This is a full-time role with a typical schedule of Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Work takes place in commercial facilities and involves regular interaction with building systems such as electrical infrastructure, lighting, HVAC equipment, building automation systems, generators, and related mechanical components. The position is physically demanding: during an 8-hour day you must be able to continually bend, squat, kneel, lift, twist, climb, reach, stand, and walk; use your hands for repetitive pushing, pulling, and grasping motions; frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 60 pounds; and occasionally move objects in excess of 100 pounds. Work may include navigating mechanical rooms, electrical rooms, and occupied office spaces while adhering strictly to safety procedures and applicable codes.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Millington, TN.

The pay range for this position is $27.78 - $27.78/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
