Head of Finance | High-Growth AI Startup

We are partnering with a rapidly scaling, venture-backed AI technology company to hire its Head of Finance. This is a senior leadership role with significant exposure to the CEO, executive team, board, and investors.

The company has built a differentiated consumer-facing AI platform with a large and growing global user base. With significant momentum already established, the business is entering a stage where finance will become increasingly important to how the company scales, deploys capital, and makes strategic decisions.

This is not a traditional finance leadership position focused primarily on reporting and controls. The Head of Finance will operate as a strategic partner to the CEO while building the financial infrastructure needed for the company's next chapter.

The Opportunity

You will have ownership across nearly every dimension of finance, from corporate strategy and capital planning to forecasting, accounting, analytics, and future fundraising.

The mandate is broad: understand what is driving the business, create visibility into where it is going, and help leadership make better decisions around growth, investment, profitability, and capital.

Key areas of ownership will include:

• Partnering directly with the CEO on financial and corporate strategy
• Building sophisticated forecasting and long-term financial models
• Developing the company's budgeting and planning framework
• Creating actionable visibility into growth, margins, customer economics, cash usage, and ROI
• Advising leadership on where and how aggressively to invest
• Preparing the business for future equity and/or debt financing
• Managing board-level financial reporting and investor communications
• Overseeing accounting, reporting, tax, treasury, audit, and financial controls
• Partnering with product, engineering, growth, and operating leaders on business performance
• Evaluating strategic transactions, partnerships, M&A, and other corporate opportunities
• Building scalable finance systems and leveraging AI and automation throughout the function
• Recruiting and developing the finance organization as the business expands

Who We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who brings a combination of transactional sophistication, operating finance experience, and a willingness to remain hands‑on.

An ideal background would include:

• 10+ years of progressive finance experience
• Early-career investment banking experience, ideally within technology/TMT at a leading investment bank
• Significant experience inside a venture-backed, high-growth technology business
• Exposure to SaaS, consumer technology, subscription, marketplace, or other product-led business models
• Experience operating through a meaningful scale-up period, ideally from mid-stage venture through late-stage growth
• Direct involvement with fundraising, capital markets, investor diligence, debt financing, or other strategic transactions
• Exceptional financial modeling, forecasting, scenario planning, and analytical capabilities
• Strong understanding of accounting, reporting, controls, tax, audit, and the operational side of finance
• Ability to understand the underlying drivers of a technology business, not simply report financial results
• Experience working directly with CEOs, boards, investors, bankers, and senior executives
• Comfort moving between high-level strategy and detailed execution
• A builder mentality and the ability to create structure in an environment that is changing quickly

Experience with M&A, an IPO process, growth equity/private equity, corporate development, international expansion, or AI-native businesses would be particularly valuable.
