Hachi Sushi in Loves Park, IL is seeking a Restaurant Associate to support restaurant operations and lead a team of fewer than 20 employees. This hands-on role oversees front- and back-of-house performance in a busy Japanese restaurant offering all-you-can-eat sushi, conveyor-belt sushi, hibachi, dine-in, takeout, and multiple online ordering channels. The position offers $75,000–$85,000 per year plus a performance bonus, with approximately 50–55 hours per week and availability required during evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak business periods.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily restaurant operations across FOH and BOH.
• Schedule, lead, coach, and develop a team of fewer than 20 employees.
• Control labor costs, food costs, waste, and inventory.
• Manage ordering and vendor relationships.
• Oversee P&L performance and operational results.
• Handle guest concerns and resolve conflicts professionally.
• Improve service, ticket times, and operational efficiency.
• Maintain food safety, cleanliness, and health department standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of restaurant management experience.
• Hospitality or business coursework.
• ServSafe Manager Certification.
• Experience with restaurant operations and P&L management.
• Knowledge of labor cost management, food cost control, and inventory management.
• Experience using scheduling software.
• Understanding of food safety compliance.
• Strong leadership, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
