Senior Superintendent – Job Description Location: New Jersey Project Delivery and Construction team based out of our Somerset, NJ office. Project site: Ridgefield, NJ (fulltime onsite). Responsibilities Lead specific construction site activities, including trades, and manage field operations on projects. Support the Project Director, Project Manager, and Construction Manager for oversight of work progress, subcontractor manpower, and correct trade coordination. Ensure subcontractor and vendor work is completed safely and in compliance with contract documents and project schedule. Collect and assemble on‑site testing reports, inspection reports, and Construction Completion Records for close‑out documentation to the IPS Commissioning/Validation team and client. Assume primary responsibility for assigned trades on construction sites. Lead vendors and subcontractors to meet project goals. Ensure safety and corporate goals achievement on assigned projects. Ensure projects meet applicable quality requirements. Interact with clients at the site and promote positive relationships. Support pre‑construction, construction, and close‑out execution plans with the Project Director, Project Manager, Construction Manager, and Senior Superintendent. Support development and maintenance of project schedules, including targeted and actual activities lists, durations, and sequencing logic. Develop a working knowledge of the project budget for assigned trades and identify exceptions throughout the project. Support change control documentation and related financial documentation. Oversee assigned vendors and subcontractors to ensure quality compliance. Participate in constructability reviews of design documents. Support procurement and coordination of all required extra‑corporate project resources. Work with the team to conduct pre‑bid walk‑through and descope meetings. Support vendor and subcontractor invoice evaluation. Evaluate requests for payment against actual performance. Manage subcontractor and vendor field T&M change requests and assess legitimacy. Facilitate communication between subcontractors, vendors, and project personnel, and document interactions. Support the RFI process. Conduct periodic site inspections and evaluations and report findings. Produce daily reports of site conditions, including weather, force levels, and safety issues. Review job safety analysis documentation and other safety documentation as required by the corporate safety program. Coordinate with trade subcontractors at the site in periodic meetings. Support Document Control to ensure all submittals are distributed, reviewed, and stored per project and corporate requirements. Review submittals as necessary to meet project requirements. Ensure compliance of project activities with legal and regulatory requirements. Oversee startup activities of assigned trades if included in the project scope. Oversee commissioning activities of assigned trades if included in the project scope. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Requirements 10+ years of experience in Construction Project Delivery. Experience on pharmaceutical construction project sites. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline; or an equivalent technical degree. Background in construction trades. Physical Demands Must stand, sit, and walk for prolonged periods. Must stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as required. Must lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Must climb ladders as necessary. Work Environment Work both indoors and outdoors, exposure to varying conditions. Adhere to strict cleanroom gowning protocol. Travel 25% travel, or as required by the assigned project. Possible assignments at client sites for extended periods or overnight stays. Require reliable transportation and ability to commute daily. Work schedule may require flexibility including availability for 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts and weekends. Safety Safety‑sensitive position. Field work at client sites involving construction, process, packaging, manufacturing, research, or non‑administrative areas.
