CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER Cape May MACis a state-leader in historic cultural tourism and is responsible for nearly $200million of economic impact on the local economy annually. The 501c3 non-profit operates the Historic 1879 Emlen Physick Estate, the 1859 Cape May Lighthouse and 1942 WWII Lookout Tower. The organization also operates trolley and walking tours, the Cape May Music Festival, a host of holiday events and more, totaling nearly 9,000 public and private tours/events each year. Annual disbursements and receipts top $5million. The role of Chief Financial Officer for Cape May MAC develops financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities and staff requirements, identifying monetary resources and developing action plans. Requirements include a Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in Accounting; five years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience; as well as holding a Certified Public Accountant license. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES * Develop all financial reports, including weekly cash flow projections developed for the first half and second half of the year. Prepare weekly actual versus projection reports for review with the Management & Budget team. * Develop an annual budget. * Review and sign all issued checks and approve check signing procedures. * Approve and process all inter-account bank transfers. * Designated as on-site signatory for all bank accounts. * Analyze all bank statements, review for any irregularities and review completed monthly bank reconciliations. * Oversee the adherence to all internal business accounting controls. * Monitor program budgets. * Review and manage cash flow. * Review and approve all reimbursements and fund requests. * Monitor and manage all expenses to ensure most effective use of assets. * Monitor grant reporting and appropriate release of temporarily restricted funds. Prepare the budget for grant contracts and the financial reports for interim and final grant reports. * Oversee expense allocations, code expense vouchers for G/L expense. * Monitor and make recommendations for asset retirement and replacement. * Prepare monthly and year-end financial reports. * Prepare monthly and quarterly reports of MAC Investments to the Investment Team. Monitor and implement the agreed upon investment allocation schedule and take the minutes of the Investment Team meetings. * For the annual audit, review the audit engagement letter, transmit all of the schedules and information required by the auditors and review the draft audit reports. * Prepare financial spreadsheets for special projects and events (advertising sales, Music Festival Donations, Victorian Weekend, Halloween Happenings, Christmas Candlelight House Tours). * Submit to the Director the information needed for the preparation of monthly cash flow reports. * Prepare Financial Dashboard for bi-monthly Board Meetings.
