Travel CVOR RN - $3,024 per week

Overview American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Oak Lawn, Illinois. Responsibilities Assignment Overview: Note: Night shift position with hours of Sun–Thurs 10:45p–7:15a; schedule is rotation-based on a 6-week cycle and candidates are placed where needed (no self-scheduling). Operate in a 24/7/365 OR with a 7:30 a.m.–11:30 p.m. primary window for M–F (skeleton crew for trauma and urgent cases after 11:30 p.m.); weekend hours are 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. with skeleton crew after 5:00 p.m. for trauma and urgent cases. Scrub and circulate in a Level I Trauma Center Operating Room; participate in 2 hybrid rooms for CV/Vascular cases. Manage a patient population including outpatient, inpatient, trauma cases (GSW, stabbings, transplants, donor cases, general, GYN, urology, robotics, vascular, ortho, neuro, and open heart/CABG). Work with hybrid room cases including TAVR, AAA, endarterectomies, angiograms, and fistula revisions (adult patients only). Contribute to 24/7 coverage and on-call requirements: 3 call shifts per 6-week period; 30-minute response time; sleeping room provided. Evidence-based use of Epic EMR; IV pump: Alaris; medication dispensing: Pyxis; no floating required. Qualifications Active Illinois (IL) RN license required Current BLS certification required Minimum 2–3 years of acute care OR experience required; most recent experience must be within the last year Ability to scrub and circulate required Trauma experience at a Level I or II facility required Epic EMR experience required Critical care experience preferred At least 1 professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN dated within the last year required for consideration Candidate's full middle name or initial, date of birth, and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration Additional Information Orientation includes Day 1 meeting with educators and ANM, login access setup, online modules, and Epic training; Days 2–3 consist of unit orientation Department support includes a charge nurse (no patient assignment M–F, available to assist on weekends and evenings), anesthesiologist bedside monitoring, resource nurse, ANM, educators, service line reps, and an Epic super-user Holiday coverage required: 1 winter holiday and 1 summer holiday Scrubs are provided by the facility Parking is free Local candidates are accepted at the same rate; no radius rules apply First-time travelers are welcome to apply Former employees of Advocate Health or any of its subsidiaries must have been separated for at least 12 months before being eligible for a travel assignment American Traveler Job ID #P-696932.
