Jr Purchasing Agent

A family-owned company in the Irondale area is looking for a Purchasing Agent . This company has been in business for over 100 years. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented purchasing agent to join our procurement team in the HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) industry . This role offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in purchasing, supply chain management, and vendor relations within a fast‑paced environment. The agent will support the purchasing team in ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of materials, equipment, and services necessary for our HVAC operations. Here’s What Your Day-to-Day Looks Like Assist in Procurement Processes : Support the purchasing team in sourcing, evaluating, and selecting HVAC materials and equipment. Order Management : Help create and process purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of products and services. Vendor Communication : Assist in maintaining effective communication with suppliers regarding order status, delivery schedules, and any discrepancies. Inventory Control : Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with the team to maintain optimal stock levels of HVAC components. Data Management : Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and vendor agreements in the company’s procurement system. Compliance : Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and relevant regulations. Team Collaboration : Work closely with other departments, such as sales and finance, to align purchasing strategies with the overall company budget and current market demands. Proficiency in Intermediate Excel skills a must. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
