Maintenance Technician

Maintenance Technician II (7:00 pm - 3:30 am shift)Morgan Hill, CAOrder: 252082The Maintenance Technician II will support the production department by working with minimal supervision on installing, troubleshooting and repairing production machinery. The technician should be knowledgeable on collecting and preparing daily maintenance and repair logs. Duties also include supporting production teams by carrying out a range of product development and activities such as analyzing situations or interpreting data. Additionally the Maintenance Technician II should be able to follow work instructions and procedures which include use of personal protection equipment (where relevant) to safeguard self, other employee and the work environment.Please note roles and responsibilities are subject to change with or without advance notice.Major duties and requirements:Support maintenance by implementing, installing, troubleshooting and repairing facility and production machineryCollect and prepare daily maintenance and repair logsAssist in performing preventative and predictive maintenance on equipment as part of the overall TPM processClearly understand Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and how they impact machineryPerform basic electrical troubleshooting, including sub componentsPartner with process engineering to support diagnosis, recommend improvements and take appropriate corrective actions on equipment to achieve optimum line efficiency and up timeInvestigate cause of equipment issues and take measures to prevent recurrence of issuesCollaborate effectively with various departments and internal customersMaintain and secure work tools and follow 3S/5S proceduresPerform the Lock-out/Tag-out process diligentlyFollow safety procedures for PPE (personal protection equipment) and the company's policiesDispose hazmat waste in proper areaMaintain a clean working environmentAble to work overtime and flex work hours occasionally to support a 24/7 production environmentEscalate equipment and production issues by notifying Lead/Supervisor/ManagerOrganize parts and ensure maintenance spare parts inventory is adequate and maintainedExperience and/or education requirements:Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent3 years or more of experience working in a production departmentExperience in composite manufacturing is a plusStrong mechanical aptitude and experience with a variety of electric and hand tools such as basic mechanic tools, electric drills/grinders, calipers, tape measurers, electrical multimetersAdvanced skills required in one or more of the following areas: electrical, mechanical, hydraulic & pneumatic systems, plumbing & piping systems, or PLC programmingBasic welding and/or manual machining skills requiredKnowledge of programing PLC's is requiredAbility to read and interpret blueprints and schematics requiredExperience with high and low voltageKnowledge of TPM software system, TPM methods & continuous improvement activitiesManual dexterity required for operating machinery, equipment and computersMath and basic computer skills requiredProficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PPT) Adobe Acrobat and CMMS'sMust be able to follow written and verbal instructionsMust be able to communicate clearly (written and verbally) in EnglishAble to effectively work and communicate in a team environmentMaintain work areas in a neat, orderly and safe mannerMust be capable of lifting to 55 lbsExcellent attendance: ability to work overtime, weekends and off/extended shifts as neededHourly rate: $29 - $47/hr
