Project Manager - Heavy Civil / Site Development

The Opportunity

We are partnering with an established site development and civil construction contractor seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a major project in Poughkeepsie, NY.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of the civil and structural groundwork for a large-scale, fast-paced research and technology facility.

The project involves extensive sitework, concrete foundations, and drilled foundation systems, requiring a Project Manager who thrives in demanding construction environments where scheduling, coordination, and execution are critical.

We are particularly interested in individuals who have delivered complex projects within the data center, logistics, distribution, industrial, or advanced technology sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of project delivery from preconstruction through completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.
• Oversee site development, earthworks, underground utilities, concrete foundations, and drilled foundation operations.
• Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, procurement, subcontractors, and resource allocation.
• Coordinate closely with general contractors, engineers, owners, and field supervision to maintain project progress.
• Identify and resolve construction challenges, particularly around complex site conditions, accelerated schedules, and multiple trades.
• Manage project financials, including cost tracking, forecasting, change orders, and contract administration.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, and project specifications.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as a Project Manager delivering heavy civil, site development, or large-scale commercial/industrial construction projects.
• Strong technical understanding of earthworks, site utilities, concrete foundations, and deep/drilled foundations.
• Experience working on fast-track construction projects, ideally data centers, logistics facilities, distribution centers, or large industrial developments.
• Ability to manage multiple subcontractors, complex schedules, and demanding project deadlines.
• Strong commercial awareness, budgeting, scheduling, and contract management skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively between field teams and project stakeholders.
• Experience working for a self-performing civil/sitework contractor is highly desirable.
