Network Deployment Technician, DCC Communities

Overview AWS is looking for a Network Deploy Technician to join our growing team within infrastructure operations. You will work with minimum supervision in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of our next-generation networks and assist in the development of innovative ways to automate and scale our network. All Physical Requirements Are Expected With Reasonable Accommodations Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; and participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds Ability to work in an environment that operates 24/7 with an ability to participate in primary responder rotation and provide after-hours support as needed Working in cramped and/or elevated and/or noisy environments Bending, lifting, stretching, reaching, standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a day Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation Key responsibilities Managing work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects Collaborating with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles Troubleshooting networking, routing and interconnectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords Specifying Power and Cooling requirements and ensuring Hardware Racking/Stacking completed for new equipment Participating in the migration, basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware Traveling within and outside of regional work area is required. You will be responsible for having a reliable personal vehicle and valid driver's license to travel within the regional work area, as company transportation will not be provided. A day in the life Our Team Has Three Primary Tasks Providing the first level networking devices to serve our customer racks entails various tasks (the name of the game is efficiency): You will track network rack intake and delivery; work with various onsite teams to request for rack space, power, and cooling for network racks. And then partner with network engineers to ensure all configurations are ready. You'll also be working on link and device troubleshooting within a certain Service-Level Agreement There is also console builds (and room builds) that are really exciting. You'll be exposed to more teams whose goal is to provide more space and capacity for customer racks. Work with ID-Scaling peers to build higher-level networking devices. Qualifications Basic Qualifications 1+ years of computer networking experience 1+ years of Linux operating systems experience 1+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience Preferred Qualifications Data center experience Industry standard certifications (CompTIA, CCENT, Network+) Experience with common tools related to network troubleshooting, including VFLs, OTDR and power meters Knowledge of major Command Line Protocols (Cisco IOS, JunOS, GNU/Linux) and common Networking Protocols (BGP, OSPF) Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
