Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Clinic PACU - Post Anesthesia Care for a travel nursing job in San Francisco, California.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: PACU - Post Anesthesia Care\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 10/06/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 40 hours per week\n Shift: 8 hours, days\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Days, 5x8hrs\n Hours: 40 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Oct 6, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring an experienced PACU RN for a teaching hospital assignment requiring CA RN license, BSN, and at least 3 years of PACU experience.Details\n \n Position in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)\n Day shift, 8-hour shifts with variable start times (5x8, 6:00 AM-2:30 PM)\n Must be able to work in pre-op, PACU, and extended care units\n Ability to float to other UCSF facilities within a 75+ mile radius as needed\n 1:2 patient ratio\n Epic charting system used\n Cares for patients undergoing Endo/Laparoscopic, ENT, General, GYN, Ophthalmology, Robotics, and Urology surgeries\n Provides pre/post-op care including discharge instructions, medication reconciliation, 12-lead EKG/ECG, and urinary catheterization\n Manages patients recovering from general and gynecological anesthesia including hysterectomy and mastectomy cases\n Administers IV vasopressors and cares for ENT patients including tonsillectomy recovery\n Requirements\n \n Active CA RN license required\n BSN required\n Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required\n Minimum 5 years of RN experience with at least 3 years of PACU experience required\n Teaching hospital experience required and must be reflected in employment history\n Prior travel nursing experience required\n Skilled in airway management, anesthesia recovery, and pain management\n Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs\n CCRN or CPAN certification preferred\n 2 years of critical care experience preferred\n Central line care/management experience preferred\n 2 professional references from most recent employer required for consideration\n Additional Information\n \n Provides comprehensive perianesthesia care across Phase I and Phase II recovery settings\n Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers\n Must disclose all requested time off (RTO) at time of consideration, subject to manager approval; no RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment\n Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed, including dates, units, and manager names for rehire eligibility review\n Travel pairs are allowed but generally will not be placed on the same unit, and married couples may not work together on the same unit\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-746697.
