Job Details Location: CHA Teen Connection at SHS Category: Human and Social Services Department: Psych - Child Ambulatory Job Type: Part Time Union Name: Non Union Work Schedule: Day Length Of Shift(s) In Hours: 4-8 Shift Details: 8am-4pm Hours/Week: 10.00 Weekend Requirements: No Holiday Requirements: No On Call Requirements: No Responsibilities The Family Support Specialist brings a key family perspective to clinical teams providing School Based Urgent Care. In that context, the specialist helps translate between the professional culture and the family’s culture, building trust and facilitating critical information sharing. The specialist clarifies communication about symptoms, diagnoses, and treatment planning, enhances engagement between parents and clinicians, and supports children and youth to receive needed mental health services. Qualifications Experience as a parent or caregiver of a child with special health care needs. Prior experience advocating for families, learning when and how to share personal stories as examples, and collaborating with clinicians and other professionals. Ability to represent the family voice on the clinical team when interventions are discussed and at a leadership level when needed. Positive interpersonal presence as a team member. Bi-cultural and bi-lingual preferred (Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian-Creole). Hybrid position; in person hours at Somerville High School Teen Health Center.
