Duties

Perform a comprehensive mental health nursing assessment and history to plan, provide and direct nursing care across the continuum of care.

Identify patient problems, generate nursing diagnoses, design plans of care, write and implements nursing orders, evaluate nursing interventions, document patient's status on a continual basis and revise plans of care accordingly.

Develop and initiate innovative teaching programs for patients requiring special approaches.

Administer many psychotropic and complex medications via the oral, intramuscular, subcutaneous, intradermal, topical, rectal, respiratory, intravenous routes.

Identify pending crisis situations and handle appropriately.
