Location: Rocky Hill, CT
Pay: $28-$35 per hour, based on experience
Position: Full-Time

The Position

We're looking for an experienced AV / Live Event Production Technician who enjoys working hands-on, solving problems, and taking ownership of a job.

The right person is dependable, motivated, technically capable, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a production crew. We're looking for someone who can grow into handling events from start to finish, including preparing equipment, loading the truck, traveling to the venue, setting up and operating the event, troubleshooting problems, and completing the strike.

You don't need to be an expert in every area of AV. We're looking for someone with a strong production background who is interested in continuing to learn and expand their skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, load, transport, set up, operate, and strike AV equipment
• Set up and operate professional audio, lighting, and video systems
• Operate digital audio consoles, wired and wireless microphones, intercom systems, projectors, screens, and related equipment
• Work with DMX lighting systems and ETC lighting consoles
• Hang and focus theatrical and event lighting
• Troubleshoot technical and equipment issues on-site
• Communicate professionally with clients before and during events
• Work independently and make sound decisions when needed
• Maintain equipment and help keep the shop organized
• Follow company and industry safety procedures
• Work cooperatively with other technicians, stagehands, venues, and clients

What We're Looking For

• 4+ years of professional AV or live event production experience preferred
• Strong working knowledge of live audio, lighting, video, or multiple disciplines
• Valid U.S. driver's license and clean driving record
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Comfortable working evenings, weekends, and extended event days
• Comfortable working at heights when required
• Ability to remain calm and troubleshoot problems under pressure
• Professional appearance and communication skills
• Dependable and punctual
• Positive attitude
• Self-motivated and willing to take initiative
• Interested in learning new equipment and developing new skills
• Able to work independently without constant supervision
• Background checks may be required for certain assignments

Additional Skills We'd Love to See

Not required, but experience in any of the following is a plus:

• Driving non-CDL box trucks up to 26 ft.
• Forklift or material-handling equipment
• Rigging
• Woodworking and fabrication
• Power tools
• Wiring and soldering
• Equipment repair and maintenance
• Social media, photography, video, or marketing

Schedule & Travel

LSP Audio Visual is based in Rocky Hill, CT, with most events located throughout Central Connecticut between Hartford and New Haven. Occasional travel throughout New England and the Northeast may be required.

Live events don't always happen Monday through Friday from 9 to 5. Applicants should be comfortable with a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, early mornings, and longer event days.

Compensation & Benefits
