Senior Product Manager
General Motors Proving Ground
Job Overview GM is seeking an experienced Product Manager to support workplace modernization and AI-enabled workflow transformation in a large enterprise environment. This role combines strong product management discipline with deep product expertise to help the organization understand, position, adopt, and realize value from new technology. What You’ll Do Clearly document the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for new SaaS capabilities supporting workplace modernization and AI-enabled workflow transformation. Serve as the product expert and spokesperson for the platform, building deep knowledge of features, workflows, roadmap direction, implementation considerations, and business value. Gather and analyze business and user needs, operational challenges, and product opportunities, and translate them into user stories, use cases, product requirements, and actionable product recommendations. Influence backlog priorities and feature enhancement decisions with engineering and other cross-functional teams based on business value, customer needs, technical feasibility, enterprise priorities, and business feedback gathered as the voice of the product. Collaborate closely with engineering, design, support, vendors, and business stakeholders to align product goals, delivery priorities, and rollout plans. Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and product, user, and business research to identify opportunities, threats, gaps, risks, and improvement areas. Partner with SaaS providers and internal stakeholders to stay current on product capabilities, roadmap updates, support materials, implementation considerations, and emerging opportunities. Present to large and diverse audiences with confidence, translating complex product capabilities and technical concepts into clear, relevant, and actionable information. Introduce new product capabilities to audiences with little or no prior experience through presentations, demonstrations, walkthroughs, and tailored explanations based on business function, role, and level of technical understanding. Analyze target audiences, stakeholder feedback, and relevant usage or readiness data to identify barriers, knowledge gaps, and business needs that influence product adoption and value realization. Work closely with UX and related teams to support intuitive user experiences, clear workflows, and practical product application across business scenarios. Support readiness and rollout planning by aligning product capabilities, business requirements, stakeholder expectations, and enterprise priorities. Support go-to-market strategy and coordinate product launches and rollout activities with cross-functional teams to support successful introduction of new capabilities into production and sustainment. Communicate product updates, progress, roadmap direction, and enhancement plans to stakeholders across the organization, including leaders, partners, and impacted user groups. Provide a continuous feedback loop from users to engineering and product partners to inform backlog priorities, enhancement opportunities, and future product decisions. Identify product, process, and usage improvements that strengthen business outcomes, improve user experience, and increase adoption. Define and monitor key success measures, including OKRs, KPIs, adoption signals, deployment success measures, stakeholder feedback, and usage trends, to evaluate product performance and inform future decisions. Conduct post-launch analysis to assess product performance, identify improvement opportunities, and support continuous iteration based on feedback, business goals, and evolving needs. Partner with Change Management, Enablement, and End User Testing teams to align product communications, rollout planning, and recommended usage patterns with product capabilities, likely business impacts, and enterprise adoption needs. Lead complex cross-functional efforts with strong ownership, quality, and follow-through, while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and stronger enterprise adoption. Core Qualities and Capabilities Strong product management fundamentals, including product requirements, backlog inputs, prioritization support, and cross-functional coordination. Strong product orientation and ability to become a trusted expert in new SaaS technology. Deep understanding of business issues, user needs, and how product capabilities support business processes and enterprise transformation. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and effectively. Ability to communicate with diverse audiences and tailor messaging, content, and delivery style to different roles, functions, and levels of technical familiarity. Strong collaboration, analytical thinking, and problem-solving capability. Ability to bridge business priorities, user needs, and technology direction for effective product positioning and enterprise use. Strong end user focus and ability to connect product strategy to practical day-to-day use. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; technical discipline preferred, or equivalent experience. 7+ years in product management, product analysis, SaaS solutions, enterprise program execution, transformation delivery, or a related business or technology environment. Proven experience gathering and analyzing business and user needs and translating them into user stories, use cases, product requirements, and actionable product recommendations. Demonstrated ability to become a product expert and communicate product capabilities and business value across a large enterprise. Experience contributing to product roadmaps, backlog priorities, feature planning, or enhancement decisions in partnership with engineering and cross-functional teams. Experience presenting to large and varied audiences, including audiences with little or no prior product experience. Ability to explain complex product capabilities in simple, practical terms for business users. Strong stakeholder management and coordination skills across business, IT, vendors, design, support, and engineering teams. Familiarity with major enterprise collaboration ecosystems, modern productivity platforms, SaaS solutions, and enterprise technology practices. Demonstrated ability to support workplace modernization efforts and AI-enabled workflow transformation in a large enterprise environment. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree preferred; technical discipline preferred. Experience with enterprise SaaS product launches, adoption strategies, or large-scale business transformation. Experience defining or tracking KPIs, adoption measures, or product performance indicators. Strong documentation and technical writing skills. Experience managing multiple simultaneous priorities and balancing competing enterprise needs. Change management expertise. Strong end user focus and customer service orientation.
