Job Description
Registered Nurse - Outpatient Surgery

Schedule

(4) 9 hour shifts; Varied shifts including 6:00 AM - 3:30 PM, 6:30 AM - 4:00 PM, 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM, and 8:30 AM - 6:00 PM.

Assignment Details

Minimum experience required is 1 year; first timers are accepted. No weekends. Maximum requested time off (RTO) is 7 days. Floating required between all divisions of Outpatient Surgery. No call requirements but staying over may be necessary depending on room count.

Requirements

• Current RN license
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Experience with patient populations ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics
• Familiarity with IV starts, conscious sedation, general and local anesthesia
• Experience with the following specialties: retina surgery, total hip/knees, hand surgery, breast oncology, breast reconstruction, ENT, lap chole, hernia repairs, and podiatry
• EMR systems: Epic, Pyxis

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in PreOp, PostOp, and PACU settings
• Assist with patient assessment and preparation for surgery
• Administer medications and monitor patients during recovery
• Collaborate with surgical team to ensure high-quality care
• Educate patients and families regarding postoperative instructions
